Listed at 95.00 USD. 1961 Pony Express Termination Centennial so-called dollar, H-K 588, struck in silver. One side shows a saddled horse next to a large telegraph key, with telegraph lines in the background in an area that appears to be plains and mountains. Below these devices it shows "THE PONY EXPRESS Terminated by the Telegraph, Salt Lake City, Utah, October 24, 1861". The border around shows "UNITED STATES 1961 CENTENNIAL MEDAL", followed by a double row of small stars. The opposite side shows a saddled horse with a rider standing in front of it holding the reins in the left hand and a saddle bag in the right. Below the horse and rider is "AN IMMORTAL SERVICE TO THE UNION", "A. Lincoln". Around the border it shows "THE PONY EXPRESS ST. JOSEPH TO SACRAMENTO". In the background is a telegraph line and mountains. Nice surfaces with a little toning, mostly around the edges.
