About the Lick Observatory Collection We are very pleased to be offering a selection of the rarest pamphlets formerly in the collection of the Lick Observatory in Mount Hamilton, California. The site of many firsts in astronomy and astrophysics including the first observation of the moons of Jupiter, the Observatory's world-renowned library deaccessioned a small number of original antiquarian pamphlets on astronomical issues, many of which had become outdated or had slipped into the realm of pseudoscience. In many cases, no other originals of these pamphlets exist. These are fascinating objects from the history of science, and documents of changing ideas about the cosmos.
