The Axis Fuzz was developed for Jimi Hendrix in early 1967. Hendrix went on to use this circuit during the Axis: Bold as Love sessions. It can also be heard extensively on the Band of Gypsys album. The Axis is super responsive to the guitar's volume, delivering a pristine clean-up while maintaining a broad spectrum of tonal colors. Electronically, it uses both PNP and NPN silicon low noise transistors in a unique configuration that is temperature stable, free from radio interference and produces more output and sustain than traditional Fuzz Face-inspired designs.
