This monogram press was specifically made for the Swanfeldt company who were the makers of most of the sails for back when ships used sails to cross the oceans. Then when steam power was invented the Swanfeldts turned to manufacturing tents for the military, awnings and roofs. The last known item of significance that my wife and I saw while watching an episode of Antique Roadshow was an authenticated straight jacket designed for Harry Houdini. This is all accounted and documented as my wife is a Swanfeldt.
