This is an older wood splitter with a new engine that was put on about a year or two ago. It runs on gasoline and oil, and the splitter hydraulics also require oil. It has a pull start. The hydraulic is a little loose, but nothing that cant be fixed. I have personally split 3-5 foot diameter logs after putting the pieces back in a few times. It is very powerful, provided it has enough engine power of course.
