Gold wash or silver gilt interior. Includes match compartment with striking board. Bears the maker’s mark of Iosef Abramovich Marshak on the inside of the body of the case and inside the lid. Pre-1908 Kokoshnik assay master’s mark with the initials “AP.” Message inscribed on the interior of the lid in cyrillic script (see photos). Measures 3.875” x 2.9375” x 0.8125” (9.8 x 7.5 x 2 cm). Height is measured at the cabochon. Thickness of the case itself is 0.625" (1.6 cm). Case weighs approximately 215 grams.
