Check the listing for details. "Sestrel" Gimballed Binnacle Compass By Henry Browne & Son Complete With Burner. Listed at 176.85 USD. This handsome old Marine compass is a Sestrel by Henry Browne & Son Ltd and probably dates to around 1950. Its the version with a removable housing for the burner and this example is still complete with its burner (now fitted with a new wick) and glass. It will originally have been painted in the same battle ship grey as the compass but has at some point been stripped back and the brass polished. This type of compass was used on smaller craft such as yachts and life boats. I currently have another very similar Sestrel from the same source also for sale so please take a look at my other listing's for this and other vintage curios.
