SOUTHERN AIRWAYS - ARMY PRIMARY HELICOPTER SCHOOL - FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR - ORIGINAL PATCH - CIRCA late 1950s / early 1960s. An amazing piece of aviation and military history. Southern Airways was awarded a contract to run a helicopter training program for the U.S. Army at Camp Wolters in Texas in 1956. They continued the program until 1964 when it's name was changed to Southern Airways of Texas, Inc. This patch was worn by one of the flight instructors during this time. An extremely rare patch, capturing this interesting and important period in military aviation history. Please see the listing photos and note the amazing detail in the patch. This patch measures approximately 3" in diameter.
