This cap measures just over 2-1/4" in width, and fits Stanley 5-1/2 planes, especially the older versions.The lever on this cap was missing and was replaced with a Stanley lever.The lever fit quite well though is not completely flush with the cap.This cap had very little surface rust and was carefully polished on a treadle lathe, bringing it to the condition shown in the photos.The cap was test fit on an older Stanley 5 1/2 plane (02,02,10 patent date) and fit with room to spare. This cap is good looking, in good working condition, was carefully inspected, repaired and is ready to install.
