You're buying the front knob for a Stanley #45 combination plane.This knob was turned on a treadle driven lathe ,out of a damaged Stanley Rosewood front knob from a #5 Jack plane. This knob retains the original hole in the top to accept the brass or plated nut and threaded rod.This knob was test fit on a Stanley 45 with a similar knob.The fit and look we're nearly identical to the original knob.The knob was given a single coat of clear shellac.An interesting way to recycle a piece of rare tropical hardwood.
