Solid Silver Beaker Cup engraved Middle Eastern or Islamic motif c1850 w French tax markPresented is a solid silver beaker cup with a beautiful engraved Middle Eastern or Islamic motif banded around the lower base of the cup and around the flared top with a great script dedication of Boris on one side. It has a French tax mark used to define silver of 800 fine or better American standard sterling silver is 925 so there might be less or more silver in this alloy. I have placed a picture of my research in the photos above. This is a nice usable piece with solder evident in the interior base of cup either from manufacture or an old repair and some minor dings around the top rim with the rim slightly out of round and some minor scratches from gentle use and care. This is an excellent find for the collector of silver and makes a great piece for display.
