This antique cigarette case has a subtly curved form proffering a comfortable fit in the majority of pockets. The anterior cover is embellished with an exceptional hot enamel scene depicting two greyhound style canines in a rural setting. The posterior surface of the case is ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials 'G.W.C.R' and the date '11th Feby 1886' The rounded sides of this cigarette case are plain and unembellished. This antique enamel cigarette case is fitted with a push fit catch, which access to the two hinged compartments. This impressive example of Victorian silverware retains the original gilt interior. Condition This antique enamel cigarette case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. The enamel panel is in perfect condition. The hallmarks struck to the interior of the case are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
