This product is new old stock, left over from a bike shop that closed over a decade ago. These baskets come with a quick release clamp that mounts to your handlebars (fits from 25.4mm to 31.8mm) permanently, allowing you to disconnect the basket when not in use. The actuation on the clamp is simple and painless. I use one of these on a mountain bike (when it's not on the trail) and I've never had a problem with it. Those in the know, however, will tell you that this particular type of mount tends to droop. The mounting hardware comes with a cable that is supposed to wrap around your stem and prevent drooping, but it often doesn't work and the instructions are very confusing. The reason mine doesn't droop is because the basket is pushed pretty snugly against the brake and shift cables of my bike. This isn't really ideal but it does no harm on my particular setup. If you actually want this to stay put, you'll likely have to do some extra work to figure out how to make the mount more secure. I've been thinking about gluing a close-cell foam block, or screwing a dowel, to a stem-mounted front reflector brace, so the basket droops a little and then bumps into the foam and stops. All original hardware comes with the bike, still in its original packaging. Small scuffs on the plastic QR mount, but likely would have this on brand new ones sold at a shop due to how they are shipped. Otherwise in perfect condition!
