This reddish-orange banknote bears Dutch text. Its obverse features a woman carrying a basket of fruit and vegetables on her head and a torch with a 1963 banner. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the coat of arms of Suriname depicting a shield with a sailing ship, star, and palm tree and flanked by two native indians holding bows and arrows. Also on the reverse is a banner with Latin text JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES. The note does not contain a security thread but bears a watermark that reveals a parrot’s head. It is 152 x 66 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition.
