This is a restoration upgrade kit for the Technics SH-Z107 Equalizer. Technics used electrolytic caps in the EQ and output section...this kit fixes that by replacing all those electrolytics with German WIMA audio grade Film caps. The sonic difference was immediately noticeable. Bass is richer, yet tighter, improved midrange, a less fatiquing overall sound. 12 Wima caps are used and those are the bulk of the price of this kit. I picked one of these up along the way and when I got inside to clean it up, saw the e-caps AND how easy it would be to change them out. This project took me two hours - one of those hours was learning curve I'll tell you how to avoid. Instructions, a checklist and BOM are included in PDF format. The instructions are overkill (15+pages) for this unit and offer a number of helpful tips in restoring audio gear of any type or brand. Aside from that extra hour, this was an exceptionally easy and fun project with very satisfying results. I also upgrade the power supply with slightly larger filter caps. All e-caps in the unit get replaced.
