This stunning sculpture by Terri Foster: Fused glass is also referred to as warm glass or kiln glass. Colored glasses in the form of sheets, stringers, and powdered glasses are cut, shaped and assembled using a variety of techniques. A specific technique can require firing in the kiln as many as 7 times and involve temperatures between 1000 to 1700 degrees. Firings typically take from 12 to 24+ hours. Between firings, the glass surface and edges may be modified by hand or machine to achieve desired effects. Its about 10.75" long and about 4.5 " wide sits about 2.5" high.
