The Perfect Choice for Premium Pillars and Parts Pillar installation assists in accuracy as it prevents crushing of the stock and prevent stress cracks. Pillars also keep the action from twisting or moving. Consistency is key in accuracy. The pillars are 1/2" (.4995) in diameter, CNC machined, and made of T6 6061 aluminum. These pillars are left long at 1.5" so that they can be trimmed to length by the installer, depending on the specific stock that you have. If the pillars are cut too short they will not do their job. The threaded rod is used to assist in placing the pillars and cutting to them to length. Simply scuff up the exterior with some sand paper prior to installation and be sure to degrease. These can be installed in manners, factory, HS Precision, Boyd's, and McMillian stocks. This a DIY kit. In order to utilize this kit you must drill out the stock, and epoxy or "glue" these into place. Final fit and finish will need to be done during installation. A chamfer may be required on the bottom inner diameter of the pillars to allow for action screw fitment. A drill press is recommended but many have used a hand drill or sand paper around a dowel with some patience.
