Check the listing for details. Top Sleeve Insertion Tool for Vise IT (1-3/16). Color: Black, Condition: New. Listed at 19.00 USD. Top Sleeve Insertion Tool for Vise IT System (1-3/16) Designed and fabricated by me. This Top Sleeve Insertion Tool for the Vise IT system helps you put in those annoying top sleeves without having them sink too far in, or go in at the wrong pitch. Top sleeves can be inserted without this tool, but having this tool makes it much easier and less of an annoyance. 1) Drill IT hole and 1/2” hole into the ball as normal. sand the top inch of the hole slightly. Make sure theres a small amount of bevel. 2) Add a very small ring of superglue around the top of the hole. 3) Add the top sleeve to the top sleeve insertion tool, and line the tool up with the hole. 4) Using a hammer or mallet, lightly tap the top of the insertion tool to drive the top sleeve evenly into the hole. You will be finished inserting the top sleeve after any of the insertion tool hits the surface of the ball. If the coverstock of the ball is too tight and insertion is difficult, you will need to use a bevel knife to scrape away some of the top sleeve material so the slug slides in appropriately. *At 0-0 pitch, the entire rim of the insertion tool will touch the ball. As the pitches increase, the top sleeve and tool will go in at an angle, and the rim of the top sleeve insertion tool opposite the direction of the pitch will contact the ball. This is normal and expected. Stop * 5) Twist and pull the insertion tool upwards to remove it from the hole. Do this quickly to avoid excess glue from adhering the tool to the ball. There will be a portion of the top sleeve sticking out from the top of the hole. This is intentional. Wipe off any excess glue from the insertion tool and any that has dripped further into the thumb hole. 6) Using a razor blade, cut off the remaining material from the top sleeve. Add a small amount of bevel to the edge of the top sleeve with a knife, sandpaper, or bevel sander. This entire process should only take a few seconds.
