This limb cast is very translucent, composed mostly of translucent caramel colored agate. Some bands of opal also run through the specimen. This specimen will need to be cut and polished for best results, as the rind on each end of the specimen prevents the translucent gem material from being visible, though one can tell the specimen is composed of gem material by looking at visible sections on its length. Other methods would include removing the prehistoric mud on the outside with boiling water or a shmp bath and a toothbrush, if you have a saw or willingness to clean up specimens, this quality piece could make a wonderful project with a beautiful outcome.
