Iconic Trident EQ For Your 500 Series Chassis In the 1970s, just about every major pop act recorded at London’s Trident Studios. At the heart of the studio’s sound was its in-house-built A-Range console, which quickly became famous for its highly musical EQ and the rich, fat tone it imparted to every signal passed through it. Featuring all-discrete hand-wired circuitry developed by Malcolm Toft and Barry Porter, only 13 of the original A-Range desks were ever made. Worldwide demand for the “Trident sound” resulted in the more widely distributed 80 Series consoles, which went on to record countless hit records in the late ’70s and ’80s.
