The Turkey 500,000 Lira Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Turkey in 1997 under the 1970 law. The purple banknote features Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and the bank logo on its obverse. Its reverse depicts the bank logo and the Canakkale Martyrs Memorial on Hisarlic hill in Morto Bay. Security features of this note include a windowed security thread with demetalized TCMB and a watermark that reveals Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It is 160 x 76 mm in size and was demonetized on January 1, 2016. It also bear the signatures of bank governor Gazi Ercel and Vice-Governor Aydin Esen. This particular standard banknote is in uncirculated condition and its serial number bears the prefix M.
