Check the listing for details. USS Cavalla SS 244 Ceramic Ashtray...WW2 Gato Sub, Sunk IJN Flt Carrier Shokaku. Condition: Used. Listed at 99.99 USD. For your consideration: a USS Cavalla SS 244 Ceramic Ashtray...WW2 Gato-Class Sub (1944-1968). The ashtray was part of the estate of a USN Submarine Commander who served from the 1950's into the early 1980's. The heavy, solid ceramic ashtray (6" square, 1" thick) is in very good antique condition...clean with no significant defects other than a couple of rubs and wear to the felt bottom. The USS Cavalla was a WW2 naval rockstar, sinking the Japanese fleet carrier Shokaku leading up to the Battle of the Philippine Sea (the sub also provided invaluable intel about Japanese fleet movement). While I have no way of knowing when the ashtray was cast, it certainly was derived from the Cavalla and is highly desirable. Please note the pics for condition specifics and feel free to message me any questions you may have. Shipping for this heavy item is 15.05 for US Priority Medium Flat Rate box.
