Install with male end pointing downward. I installed this on 5" trial stove at the end of a season then bought a larger stove with a 6" outlet before the next season. I only used this about five times as you can see minimal smoke residual and the sticker has not melted. The 6" side slides into the next section so the marks should not be seen once installed or you can touch it up with paint. Shipping to lower 48 US states is free.
