The Patch: This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage VII Corps 2nd Design Shoulder patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. There is some scrapbook paper on the back. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. The History: The VII Corps was sent to the European Theater in October 1943. The Corps assaulted Utah Beach on June 6, 1944 and had command of the 4th Infantry Division and the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. The Corps attacked across the Cotentin Peninsula and up into it while the 8th Corps held the base of the peninsula. 7th Corps units spearheaded Operation Cobra, and drove east and north to cut off German units in Falaise. After advancing through France and Belgium, the 7th Corps fought in the Huertgen Forest. After the Battle of the Bulge, the corps crossed the Roer to capture Cologne and Bonn. The corps advanced into Germany until linking up with Russian units along the Elbe River. Please read my auction requirements.
