Check the listing for details. Vintage 1950's Ampex H-1390 / E.V 623 Dynamic microphone w 423A stand display #. Listed at 71.20 USD. Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at one of Electro Voices most elegant microphones ever manufactured and sold as a variant by The Ampex Corporation. These Ampex H-1390 dynamic microphones are a bit rarer than the Electro Voice 623's that were made during the 1950's. Clean, modern, simplistic...the 623 (H-1390) microphone is a 1st generation "general purpose" mic that was an affordable option to the more expensive dynamic cardioid mics of the day. It comes with the period E.V 423A desk stand shown. Pic # 2 is from the E.V 623 (same microphone as the H-1390) showing the mics basic characteristics. Electro Voice sold under license the 623 model mic to a few different brands such a DuKane and Ampex. These companies simply put their own badge on the mic and sold it under their name brand. It should noted right away that this mic has been tested and has a dead element therefor this should be used for display, repair or prop purposes only. The Ampex-1390 was an omni-directional microphone picking up more sound making it ideal for a singer who would play the guitar or other handheld instrument. It was an all metal design with polished chrome finish. As seen in the pics provided the polished chrome housing has almost no wear and one of the nicer examples I have seen. No fractures, engravings or pitting. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The Ampex badge shows no wear and completely legible. A decent looking mic overall and I'd rate it a true 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The joint mechanism works perfectly with plenty of adjustable tension and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. This mic takes a standard screw on 4 pin cable. Same cable used by the E.V 664 and Shure 545 / 545 S though none is included. MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is a 1950's era E.V 423A model microphone desk stand. This is an all aluminum stand with a brown painted finish and polished chrome stem / riser. This model was widely produced by Electro Voice during the 1950's through 1970's. As you can see the stand thread itself is universal and any mic or mic clip will technically mate to the top of it. This particular E.V stand has virtually no wear as you can see. There are no dents, scratches or fractures on this stand. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are included and in great shape. Mic stand with mic is appx 10 inches tall X 5 inches wide. The 423A is fairly stable and can be used on small, medium and some larger mics. Mic stand is a true 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. The threading is the universal 5/8 threading so any American screw on microphone will work with this stand. This will make a very nice display piece and will draw plenty of attention anywhere it's shown. As with all my vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the original purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE WELCOME as well.
