Outside housing is made of ivory colored plastic. Inside sliding scale is made of black plastic. One end has a metal ring attached. The other end has a metal hook attached. Graphics on outside (Chatillon; Made in U S A) has faded but is still readable. Scale does have resistance when hook is pulled. Scale graphics are visible. Overall length of item measures approximately 6 1/2 inches long.
