It has constant static but stops when talk button is pressed, may be because there is nothing hooked up to it. I got this in a large lot from an estate sale and it was quite dirty. I cleaned up the outside but it would probably benefit from a thorough cleaning. This is an old used item and may require additional work, cleaning, parts, etc. Sold as is.
