As you can see this little Bakelite box is a butterscotch color. I cleaned it up a bit with Maas metal polish which is about the same thing as semichrome. I do not know what the original purpose was for this box. Could have been a small powder box, or used for storing studs or jewelry etc. There are no markings to give me a clue, so I just don`t know. Unfortunately there is a small chip on the base as I've shown, and I just felt a couple of tiny flea bites near the chip that I hadn't noticed previously. Its not perfect, but still a nice old Bakelite collectible.
