Check the listing for details. Vintage Vienna Bronze Woodpecker or Jay Bird. Condition: Used. Listed at 195.00 USD. This auction is for a vintage Vienna Bronze figure of a bird. It looks like a Jay of some type, or perhaps a woodpecker. It measures about 4.5" long from tip of beak to the back of his longest tail feather. It has a mark cast in under the base of the tail, a barrel with handles in a circle. This is the mark for the Bergman company. Bergman first made bronzes in the late 1800's early 1900's. After WW2 the business was not active, but (I believe it was in the 1950's) their name and possibly some molds were purchased and production began again. I believe this bird is from the later time period. Still a well cast and painted figure of a bird, but it was likely made in the 1950's or 1960's. In the last photo I show this figure with a composition figure of a camera man - that figure is about 2.75" tall to the top of his head and is shown for size comparison only. I use First Class (up to 16 oz) and Priority mail. Books ship media mail. I only charge actual postage - no added fees. I use lots of bubble wrap, peanuts, and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually. Original boxes or other original paper item go into a plastic bag in case you get delivery on a rainy day.
