Walnut Meadow Horse Manure Compost: Dried is an all-natural, 100% organic compost produced by our three beautiful quarter horses, Delaney Jane, Josie and Almond. This compost is from our managed, working indoor pile. It is 6+ weeks old, damp, composted at 130-140 degrees F, hand-shredded and hand-sifted. The final product is very earthy, composted to dirt (black gold) and then dried. Our horse manure compost is an excellent soil amendment for mushroom growing, flower and vegetable gardening. The compost provides organic nutrients and improves soil aeration and water retention properties. Blend our compost in with soil or steep using water to make compost tea. We ship this compost via USPS Medium Flat Rate box. Typically 7-9 lb. depending on moisture content. We donate 10% of every sale to "Speak Up for Horses," a non-profit organization that supports the rescue of slaughter-bound horses and partners with a variety of established equine organizations to rescue at-risk horses.
