Traditional packs provide shoulder and waist adjustments that allow some flexibility in configuration, but do not distribute weight on the hips for comfort. When loaded with bulk, traditional packs become cumbersome and restrict operator movement.An S-shaped shoulder harness conforms to the shape of the next to prevent restriction of movement while a horizontal adjustment conforms the pack to the height of the shoulder and positions weight on the lumbar and hips for comfort during extended wear. It features a mode selection switch that allows the operator to switch between a blower-assisted PAPR Mode (snorkel up) and an SCBA Mode (snorkel down), which can be controlled manually during a loss in tank pressure.
