Here is a German Captured French Chassepot Bayonet measuring 27.5" OAL, 23" blade. Excellent overall with some scattered wear, use. New Serial number placed on cross-guard, top of blade spine had French Arsenal markings removed. Scabbard is correct with the German long tear drop shaped frog stud with markings on it. Back of scabbard throat stamped with German S/N#/Regimental Marks. "S" stamp by the press-stud button which works great on handle. Great fitting scabbard. See photos.
