This pay book may seem like it's just another book but it's the name behind it that makes this a powerful piece of history! I used the serial in the book to look up the name of the soldier and this has been verified, through military records, as being Willard A. Smith. I then did some research into this amazing man and found out that he fought in 5 campaigns during WWII including Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy invasion. This comes straight from his obituary page from the funeral home. In 9 years, I have only ever had one other Normandy piece so am honored and blown away to have another! This piece is sure to be a focal point of any collection!
